"STICK & STONE"

With more and more software manufacturers jumping the bandwagon of offering their product as service e.g. subscription I felt the need to explore more possibilities so I am not too dependent on one single package.

What better software to use then Open Source that is well maintained and also offer an amazing amount of features. So Blender felt like the obvious choice. Also I have a lot of blender content in my YouTube subscription list like BlenderToday and therefore it did not feel that unfamiliar.

The idea was straight forward. Create a project that includes a bit of everything. From modeling to importing some assets to texturing, lighting and finally animation & rendering.

Right at the time I decided to do it, there was this nice chair Tutorial by "Blender Guru" Andrew Price about modeling the Søborg Chair by manufacturer Fredericia.  As I watched the first part of the modeling Video I thought about challenging myself of doing the best modeling job with it I could. You can be the judge of the outcome as I share some wires below.

One thing lead to another so I ended up with a very small interior scene.

Conclusion:
After only a couple of Days playing in Blender, learning shortcuts like crazy, understanding the scene structure and some other basic things, I felt quite at home there. It´s certainly quite different to Cinema 4D, the software I usually use, but it served me well and I also found it quite stable and usable for production.
